Meet Jonathan, the forlorn star of our new spot for the Habitat for Humanity ReStore. A great place to donate your old stuff or find something for your home. Proceeds go towards helping purchase more Habitat homes. It’s the circle of life. Expert executional help from our good friends at The Forgery and Pond Creative, SF. Some people have asked us if they really sell toilets? Yep.


Nasdaq

David started working on Nasdaq two months before September 11th. You can imagine how much the business challenges changed in a matter of a few months.  This is the first commercial in a campaign that finally helped Nasdaq make inroads against the NYSE. The stand created for Nasdaq was that they were ‘The engine that moves the world forward.’

The Oregonian, New and Improved campaign

The paper had just undergone a complete face lift, new and improved, if you will. So the idea was to take old commercials and give them the new and Improved treatment by making them for the Oregonian. One of the reasons we love this is it’s all about being resourceful. These commercials cost about $5,000 clams a piece to make. We knew we didn’t have a big budget so we worked within that box. If you look closely at the Dancer spot, you’ll see a pre-famous Burt Convy hoofing it up. The agency was Cole & Weber.

Oasys Mobile, Pherotones

A digital mobile content provider and manager, Oasis needed to get noticed on a very small budget. The answer, Pherotones, ring tones that attract the opposite sex (that’s the PG way to say it.)  Click the corner of the video to see it full screen.

Group Health Cooperative

Breast Cancer, Smoking and the Flu have killed millions of people. The very simple idea here was to treat them as serial killers. These commercials were shot by one of our favorite artists, the legendary Matt Mahern. He doesn’t really do advertising so this was a pretty special project. The agency was Cole & Weber.

Audi, Art of the Heist

This is a campaign to launch the Audi A3, a bitch of a process over months including over 10,000 pieces of creative. It was produced in partnership between McKinney and Chelsea pictures which then became Campfire. A great partner who we couldn’t have done without.

Longhorn Steakhouse, New West

Longhorn Steakhouse is a damn fine place to get a great steak but they also have a very interesting menu beyond just red meat and a nicer atmosphere than your average steakhouse. We called it, the ‘New West,’ everything you loved about the old west but better.

Sony MYLO

Sony was introducing a product called MYLO (My Life Online) a wireless device aimed at college kids that would effortlessly allow them to text, share and do all things social. Since social networking is all about connecting and belonging, the idea of this campaign was to create a place they could go to become a part of a tribe and learn all about the new MYLO. The answer, of course, was to create the world’s first online thumbternity.

Penguins

As part of our realitywood campaign we would play off of the conventions of Hollywood by remaking a famous documentary the way a cigar chomping Hollywood producer would have made it. Some stories truly make better documentaries.

Sony Bravia


Sony Bravia Choose your adventure from Baldwin& on Vimeo.

 

This is a campaign for Bravia Televisions. The idea was to avoid the conversatin about pixels and aspect ratios and get to the truth of the matter. There’s tension between Men and Women about getting a big television. Guys want a big-assed television with a great picture and women want something that has a great picture and looks great in the room.  The idea of the campaign was to use Tivo to let people watch a commercial and choose an ending tailored for either men or women. The message, Bravia is the first HD TV designed for Men and Women.

IKEA Hicksville Launch

This is a spot David worked on when he worked at Deutsch in NY. It ran as a roadblock on 5 channels in the NY area the evening before the grand opening. It only ran once and was part of a campaign that led to the biggest US store opening at the time.

This is a campaign for Sony HD televisions, The Fight was featured in Adweek’s best spots.

This campaign answers the question all HD television manufacturers face when selling their televisions: How do you feature superior image quality when your customer is watching a commercial on an inferior television.
